Exercise Testing - Electrocardiography
Exercise tolerance testing is routinely performed on those patients in which coronary heart disease is suspected.  To perform an exercise test the operator needs to understand the normal electrocardiographic and haemodynamic response to exercise.  Patient safety is the priority and therefore knowing which patients can and cannot be exercised is essential, good communication skills are necessary to record a history, and identifying when to stop the test are all key in this clinical episode.
We are offering a full programme on exercise tolerance testing, including a practical demonstration in our dedicated teaching facilities.  This event is suitable for year 2 BSc and FDSc clinical physiology students, and those involved with clinical exercise testing.  For more information or you are unsure as to your suitability to attend this event please contact Kathryn Austin via e-mail;  kathryn.austin@uhs.nhs.uk
