Echocardiography is one of the most accessed clinical services within the NHS. It provides real time assessment of cardiac structure and function. Image acquisition requires skill, anatomy and experience. Assessment of images requires knowledge, physiology and experience.
Most cardiac departments require staff to achieve accreditation by the BSE to perform clinical scans.

We are offering a one day course in transthoracic echocardiography. The course will include the physics of ultrasound, image acquisition, practical sessions and interpretation.
This one day event is aimed at healthcare professionals with an interest in echocardiography, in particular student cardiac physiologists or those healthcare professionals wishing to expand their knowledge of cardiology.
The course will be delivered by a faculty of BSE accredited personnel and a medical physicists. Each candidate will have the opportunity to scan on echogenic subjects. Advice and tips will be given during the practical sessions. Click here to register
