Open Day
Southampton University Hospital Trust is opening its doors to the public this Saturday. In response to the success of last year’s open day, another opportunity to visit departments within the hospital will take place. Visitors will able to visit theatres, research laboratories and the cardiac department. The day will run from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm and there will be plenty of hands on activities. There is even free parking for visitors.

Cardiac Expansion Project
Southampton University Hospital Trust is a regional centre for cardiac services. The unit has expanded its existing cardiac services and facilities. The new North Wing is complete and accommodates new theatres, four catheter laboratories, cardiac MRI, cardiac ITU and HDU beds, and a new non-invasive department.

The 6th Working Lunch
March 2010 saw the annual healthscience event held at the Southampton General Hospital. Since 2005, the hospital has presented an array of careers within the NHS, outside of medicine and nursing. Sixteen different departments, including audiology, neurophysiology, medical physics and cardiology, manned a stall where the visitors could sample the roles and types of tests and treatments offered by those disciplines. On hand, were staff to answers questions on training and career aspirations.
