The department offers a wide range of cardiac and respiratory diagnostic testing and interventional procedures and serves a population of 195,000 people. The department is positioned in two parts of the hospital. The main part of the unit, including administration, is located in the main hospital. The second part, including the catheterisation laboratory is situated in the Sherborne Suite. For a relatively small unit the departments boasts quite an array of specialised services.
