News - National Examinations

The Heads of Departments from Cardiac Physiology Network South would like to offer their congratulations to the region's year 2 students.

The second year students have successfully completed their first professional, national examinations.  June 21st 2009 saw the students undergoing practical and oral examinations, and inspection of their logbooks.

All final year students from the network have successfully completed their Part II professional SCST  examinations.  National examinations took place in Birmingham and involved logbook submission and a written paper.  Four years hard work has culminated in excellent grades and research topics, some of which are being published.
Keep up the good work.

Well done to all students.

The network is pleased to announce that a dedicated training facility has been established here in the South of the country.

The Regional Cardiac Physiology Training Centre is accommodated in the Clinical Skills Unit at the Southampton General Hospital.  The facility has been created to relieve the pressures created by training and education on clinical areas and staff.  It will also help maintain the quality of clinical skills being taught to student cardiac physiologists in the region.  The facility boasts an ECG machine, 24Hr tape analyser, cardiomemo equipment, treadmill system and an echo machine.  The facility is also furnished with screens, couch, a workspace area and data projection services.
